MaleOverhaul Policies

At MaleOverhaul we understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone's life. Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, natural disasters and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment.

In our desire to be effective and fair to all of our clients, and out of consideration for our treatment time, we have adopted the following policies:


48 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows more than adequate time for someone else to replace your booking. Please respect this.

We accept cancellations by phone only. Please don't just SMS or send us an email to cancel an appointment. We think that is just rude and does not make us feel appreciated. Just call us please!

If you are unable to give us 48 hours advance notice you will be charged 75% of the full amount of what would have been your treatment fee. We will come to your house and take a payment on our EFTPOS machine or ask for your card over the phone. Please respect this because we kept this space free since the day you booked and will probably not get a replacement in such a short time.

If a gift certificate is being used as payment for your appointment, and you fail to give 48 hour advance cancellation notice, that gift certificate will become null and void and forfeited.


When we travel to the agreed location for an appointment, showing you the respect in arriving at the agreed time, and you either "forget", or consciously have a change of mind about your appointment, or for whatever reason, this will be considered a 'no-show', and you will be charged for your "missed" appointment on the spot with our EFTPOS machine, and all future bookings will incur a 75% downpayment.

Arriving Late (Client not at agreed location or late)

If you are not present for your scheduled session during the first 15 minutes (unless having informed us by phone that you might be late), it will be interpreted by us as a "no-show". Depending upon how late you arrive, we will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment...and regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the "full" session on the spot.

Gift Certificates

Original gift certificates must be presented at the time of payment.

Gift Certificates expire at the end of the day of the expiry date on the Certificate.

Gift Certificates are sold for services in full only and not redeemable as any dollar amount.

Closed Times

The Barbershop does not trade on public holidays. Other times will be posted on the MaleOverhaul website or on our Facebook Page.

Refer a Friend Program

Refer a Friend Program is about when one of our current clients refers a new paying client for our services and gets a reward for doing so.

If your friend books in and mentions your name, we will take note of that and take $5 off your next haircut if your friend booked a haircut, or $10 off your next massage if your friend booked a massage, or $15 off your haircut and massage if they booked both!

This is unlimited. So for example you refer 12 new massage clients to us in between your $120 massage treatments, your next massage is free, and so on.  We don't pay you in cash. So keep telling your mates so you pay less each time we see you!

Contraindications(Situations where massage is not indicated)

Under certain medical conditions, massage/bodywork may not be advised, for example when a fever is present, indicating an infection. If a massage could be potentially harmful to a client's condition, the massage therapist has the right to decline to do the massage. We may also simply avoid an area if it it contraindicated to do so.

Draping policy

Draping is a must and not an option. We insist. We follow proper massage draping protocol according to the 'Association of Massage Therapists' Australia.
At MaleOverhaul it is our strict personal policy to use draping (towel, sheet or clothing) with each and every massage. Clients must always wear underwear.

A few more things we would like to mention:

Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other clients, PLEASE plan accordingly and be on time. We take great care in coordinating ourselves to be at the agreed destination on time. Please show us that same respect.

No matter what the circumstance--a phone call is always appreciated!

Regarding "splitting" an appointment. - You cannot "split" an appointment between 2 separate clients. Two different clients must schedule 2 separate appointments and pay for the time amount you have selected.

For health reasons--please arrive freshly showered after exercising.

We reserve the right to refuse to perform a massage for any hygiene issues including failure to shower after exercising, after swimming in pool or excessive sweating. You will be responsible for full payment of your treatment time if you arrive not in the condition to receive massage.

Right to Refuse

Any client under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present for the initial appointment to sign a consent form. At that time, we will go over with the parent and child in the treatment room what will go on during the massage and we will be able to answer any questions you may have. The parent may be present in the treatment room during the massage.

Notice to all new Clients:

Under no circumstances do MaleOverhaul Therapists perform any kind of massage even remotely associated with sexual massage, ever.

Any comments and /or behaviors that are sexually inappropriate will prompt us to immediately terminate the session and charge in full for that appointment. Police action may ensue.

All MaleOverhaul Remedial Massage Therapists are Qualified Registered Members of Australian Massage Therapy organisations like the 'Association of Massage Therapists' (AMT), and we run our mobile practice with the utmost professionalism and respect for our clients as well as for ourselves and our industry.
